Fuck The Pain Away - Pythies don't hold back

PYTHIES unleash 'Fuck The Pain Away'

The rising grunge thrillsome, stir feminist defiance and sensuality in a hot cauldron of full moon sound. This is a full fruity cover of the Peaches classic. Menacing bass vibrations, guitars crash in, vocals tease and the melody cascades into dynamics of harmonic spell incantations escalating into the insistent chant ‘Fuck The Pain Away’.

This is punk rock witchcraft at it’s most potent.

Which witch trio evoke the bands Hole, L7 and Sonic Youth re-imagined as a 21st century, fierce French femme force?

Yes, this one.

Now with an internationally swelling reputation, Pythies have hit the music world’s ground running since song writer, Lise L (bass/passionate vocals) formed the band in 2023. With Alice Adjutor (guitar/vocals and raw power) and new recruit, Chloe (wild beat drums) they have the power of three to make 21st century punk that boils and bubbles.

(and turn up loud!)*

In 2024 Pythies stepped up to selling out headlines - including various Paris shows and the legendary Hawley Arms in Camden (for Kick Out The Jams/TheZineUK on the Disillusion EP tour - where, from the packed crowd we got a glimpsed clip on TikTok of this powerful Peaches cover).

TheZineUK have witnessed various Pythies gigs and keep coming back for more as the band’s tale weaves a tighter thread in our tapestry of alternative music to fight the dystopian blues.

Pythies recently toured in USA, amassing yet more new fans and began 2025 by triumphing in Italy. This year’s ‘Bitchy Witchy Tour’ rolls on. An unstoppable force, they have a debut album coming together to look forward to. Mais, oui!
