Manchester! Famous for it’s music AND it’s football. WHAT a location for this year’s Soccer Six Fest to play Rock n Goal!
What is it? Such a fun day out that it’s been in TheZineUK doc since we first uploaded. We love gigs and hanging with bands but there’s something extra connecting about an informal kick-about and having a music world mingle of a day out.
Moving On Up!
Uniting the get-up-and-go music talent, industry and media of the city and beyond, with fans, family, friends and fun, It’s only gonna build. Ten Person Teams are made of bands (and their musician world friends, crew, promo team, other bands etc.) with no football semi pro ringers allowed! A games tournament for the cup!

What song would you add to the #SoccerSixFest pre-match playlist before the week of the tournament?
#TheZineUK documenting musicians away from their usual gig or studio setting!
Who is gonna be wearing the iconic official Soccer Six kit as worn by SO many other stars over the years?
Laughing in London last year, has got us all excited for this year, already...
Manchesterrrrrrr!
A city that is loaded and vibrant with artists of all kinds and musical genres, venues, events, DJs, multi media, street art and ideas.
#TheZineUK doc has cast and crew from all over the place. This is one of the places that we come together. Can’t wait…
Sunday 16th July 2023 - “I Was There?”
The pro-active movershaker music world are not only in the pitch but on side as part of the event’s team. Manchester has a fast moving and connecting entertainment industry at all levels. A tourism mecca for music lovers it’s uniting a nation of band supporters for this weekend.
2022 was Mile End Stadium in Eastenders land. Loaded with heritage (and often copied), this pioneering event returned to it’s original ethos of mixing games with promoting emerging bands at the place where it all started. Escapist, warm-hearted day for bands and families alike. All good sports.

2023: Next stop, Belle Vue Stadium in what used to be the Entertainment Playground locality of Manchester. It will be again, soon!
In a football year of both The Lionesses and the World Cup, Soccer Six started something completely new again.
Mile End became "Smile Endz" (it’s a laugh but the passionate players really do mean business on the pitch!).
2022 band winners were The Chase and runners up, The Assist. Both giving music, the midlands AND football culture a good name
Snip of The Now at TheZineUK TikTok, lovely to meet everybody! As ever, also we found some new musical faves to follow. Love to see players rise.
CUP Soccer Six, is a legacy of British heritage and culture.
Ahead of the game with it’s eye on the ball, so to speak.
CUP Soccer Six has had Women’s football for over twenty years, in it’s wide remit of inclusion.
2022 Sponsors, Echotown Studio, launched Soccer Six at their incredible location and on the day helped distribute the cups and trophies to the winning teams and players. OMG musicians, check it out, already!).
Good sports, great talents
In October 2022, #LoveFootball launched Inner City World Cup events in Manchester at City’s Etihed Stadium VIP lounge, The Mancunian. A friend of Soccer Six, Rowetta, became the Women’s Football ambassador.
A short clip by Manchester’s own The Yard Film of what went down at Belle Vue last October - with Rowetta, Andy Burnham, Yarv Abbas of Manchester Council interviews - and more - a little insight as to why this city is special to the CUP Soccer Six vibes, already.
Now it’s the turn of what has been referred to as the School Of Rock sports day. Ha ha, bands, love em, legends.
Big up music world’s Megan Wyn and HUMZ D who also joined the growing alumni. Like another, Katie Owen (DJ to the stars), Humz found himself presenting from the World Cup in November!
There’s a lot of affection woven into the amount of anecdotes that come from these get togethers. Special thank you to founder, Mark Abes, for the hospitality to TheZineUK, we much appreciate it.
Belle Vue Stadium set for more legends on and off the pitch.
Watch the CUP Soccer socials as the next chapter in the story unfolds. See you there?
