The Kecks: 'All For Me' single/video

'All For Me', The new single from The Kecks is a Pulp-tastic fusion of classic Alt-Pop melting end of the century blues into new romantic visions of the next "now". The videos art punk cabaret enhances the escapism of a dark souled cinematic thrill, crooned to perfection.

TheZineUK crew started 2020 co-promoting the Velvet Goldmine movie screening at Genesis Cinema and can't help feeling the parallels between that, the collective story we're telling of the under radar renaissance and the songs that soundtrack it. As the world gets stranger in scary ways, music gets weirder and more fun (while real life baddies attempt to cull culture. This tune and video have all of those feels;

If you're not aware of them, yet, The Kecks are a British/German alternative rock band based in the musical heritage cities of Sheffield, Hamburg and Manchester.  They radiate underground creative appeal via a firm belief in DIY ethics - from making videos and photo sessions to releasing songs that veer from punky garage rock to the lounged sound of ‘All For Me’.

Blessed with a distinctively charismatic front man (Lennart Uschmann) they have been described by various sources as having both a "very British" AND "very European" sound - with wide potential to appeal all music fans. Additionally, they've been hailed as “The Strokes of Hamburg” (their second single, ‘Modern Girls’, a case in point) while laying claim to being “the least German band in Germany”.

The Kecks were founded in late 2018 - from Australian, French, Austrian and English heritage - at the back of a FlixBus on their way to see The Growlers play in Berlin.

There's a sparky sophistication to their sound that elevated them in 2019. After throwing raucous bunker parties in their rehearsal room and several guerilla gigs, the building buzzing culminated in two consecutive sold out shows at Hamburg's renowned Astra Stube, European shows, supporting rock 'n' roll legend Peter Perrett of The Only Ones on his German tour, festival slots and a sold out show at The Water Rats theatre in Kings Cross for the UK's top rock n roll club, This Feeling.

The Kecks have established a reputation for brutally honest, if unconventional indie that has landed on Radio X, BBC Radio 6, Amazing Radio as well as Spotify editorial playlists. With all this under their belt, they started 2020 as a bright prospect. Unable to tour, they have written multiple new songs which they have begun premiering in live-streams and at socially-distanced concerts in The Netherlands, France and Germany.

They have used these events to support the likes of It's All Indie, Warchild, We Are Manchester, Indie Midlands and Karsten Jahnke Concerts. as well as being professionally filmed (Molotow Live, Quarantunes Live Germany).

The Kecks continue to fight for the future of the music industry and charitable causes.

With no signs of slowing down, next year looks set to be a stellar year with further releases planned as well as a longer stint in the studio and more extensive touring across Europe and Russia.

Definitely more SEX it, than Brexit - an EU-wide musical drama to soundtrack 2021. https://www.thekecksofficial.com/
