Get set for a ballsy raucous rock show which engages the audience. This is one of the last bands that TheZineUK caught live pre-pandemic. There was an affection for lead singer, Lori. A feeling of “She’s one of us, but also, so much belongs on a stage”.

Released in April (with limited edition purple vinyl), songs from 'False Company' have been getting support on a wide array of rock shows, including Kerrang! and playlists like Amazing Radio.
The band have kept busy through lockdown with zoom parties, live streams, new songs, stay home videos and interactive QnA sessions.
In June, they were on a sold out co-headline tour with A Void.
Next, Weekend Recovery are planning Spring 2022 headline dates of their own.
Before then, they are part of the multi-city GhostRoadFest on Saturday 6th (London) and Sunday 7th (Leeds) November. It’s set to be one of the “I Was There” weekends. In April, we spoke to Lori, as an organiser, for TheZineUK’s interdependent fests article:
Our festival has an 82% balance of acts with female or trans representation in - and I'd love to say I'm proud of that - but that should simply be the norm and not something to be highlighted.
Alongside the festival we are also running a mentoring programme to encourage young adults to pursue their career within the music industry - something I think is very important - as they are the future of this industry and I strongly believe if you're educated within the correct surroundings then that is how you'll carry on that ethos.” - Lori
This is also an insight into the inclusive nature of Weekend Recovery and the grrrl power that radiates in the crowd at a show.
Recently back in the studio recording a new EP before smashing an appearance at Tramlines Festival fringe, there’s never a dull moment - a reflection of 2021 reality. Ha ha… remember boredom?
The best thing is that things are Increasingly more exciting now that gigs are starting to open up again, cautiously, but currently consistently.
DIY rock’n’roll (a nationwide community which these musicians are in the midst of) has proven a resillient force through 2020 and 2021 but now it’s time to let it out of it’s cage and back on a stage.
