2025 Is 2026 already?

Analyse TheZineUK so far?

What is the point of documenting non mainstream arts movements?
(although under the radar, non-famous musicians - to us, are STARS. They twinkle)

Maybe there’s not a point. It’s a compulsion to create from/despite what we’re experiencing in the time of monsters. Nevertheless a network has spun itself from songs, gigs, poems, ups and downs. The Age Of Aquarius dawned for the spiritual as the rise of the alien hearted rose. Here we are, a quarter of the 21st century at this point.

Seeded by live poetry, watered by friendship, sunflowers and music socials - in a hostile environment - to a creative community anchored in and documenting a parallel dimension fertile environment.

“Something Must Grow” (Patrick Jones)

AWEtumn 2019 front cover of TheZineUK by musician, Tyla Challenger, was a kinda time travel as a year later, we were wearing masks to protect each other during lockdown… Tyla entered our story chapters when Kick Out The Jams shows were staged at The Good Mixer in Camden

1 Something IS growing. By 2025, it’s obvious that this was meant to be.

Woven by TheZineUK’s guerilla tapestry, the ongoing Zeenagers Expo steps up in ArtfulFest (October). Minimal - with a focus on unity and hope. The nemesis of capitalism’s cruel, crumbling empire is recorded on our social media timelines, highlights and here, with the occasional article.

Importantly, the likes of Music Venue Trust (read Mark Davyd’s substack, loaded with positive, effective solutions for our endangered grassroots venue circuit, underpinning this doc)

Daniel Cross of the band Birthmarks with artbeat visual artist, Eugene Ankomah in 2016. The ‘One Pulse’ audiovisual gallery gig at Brixton Windmill included an early Deux Furieuses appearance. In 2015, the seeds of Birthmarks, Little Death Marchine, soundtracked TheZineUK prologue with ‘Expo Beats’ from our first Expo at The Ministry Of Fluff And Dreams. Both of these friends are foundations of our documentary.

2 The Playing Class are Whelmed and Outsane

Firstly, our parallel dimension thinking/living/creating is outsane. We are simultaneously overwhelmed and underwhelmed by Planet Earth’s 21st Century. We are WHELMED.

Secondly, our playing class friends are perfectly imperfect, of every background, generation, foreground but with arts hearts. It’s an ancient humanity which puts the civil in civilisation and the evolution in revolution.

Thirdly, Planet Water IS the real life. We are lunar-tic water beings of stardust still pulled by Nature’s celestial forces. Though WW3 currently wages, the growth of public music gathering sizes, over the centuries, has shaped a kinder, non-tribe shared euphoria.

LEKIDDO - LORD OF THE LOBSTER, SONJA THE BLUR FAIRY, KAT FIVE (our Space Vixen) at the music industry’s Featured Artists Coalition summer party.

Name callers ourselves, we get labelled woke lefties for caring about all human lives. Each to their own and so be it. Nastiness has crawled from under stones to become bold and terrorising abuse andviolence during the link-in-zio-prime-sinister’s authoritarian reign, already.

So fourthly, one antidote is that collectively, we’ve a great lyrical and melodic soundtrack to our virtual movie of a fertile environment seeding and blooming. It is through this additional fourth portal, that the creative month has a lens. Join the Zeenagers Expo curation, 1st-31st October (Events Dept. on FB).

Planet Water dimension’s first quarter century - but there are most definitely good souls who also exist in this not-so-virtual, just ancient, reality

3 Exposition: Audiovisual Talents

Much appreciation to the photographers, film makers, writers, technicians, promoters of our alternative reality. Artists who capture and share the MOMENTS. Additionally, even my own (Events Dept.) amateur snapshots and film clips, are a record, never the less. Talking of professional talents though, Keira Anee has documented so much of art’s alternative movements instagram.com/keiraaneephotography2/ - like Bugeye, who are are a rich vein…

We wanna get LOADED! With Bugeye. Britain’s top live disco punk sensation are lighting up (and bigging up) the grassroots venues. This is the kinda #musictourism for the people where you can enjoy a show while not having to watch the band on a giant screen in the next county. I may exaggerate but if you’ve ever really appreciated the idea of personal gigs where the audience are part of the show, this is the circuit. COME! https://www.instagram.com/bugeye_music/

4 WHAT a great story.

Hats off to all who are helping to tell it. As I proof read this, it’s Saturday 13th September.

Last night I enjoyed new music of the not-indie-by-numbers kind, at The Finsbury Pub and found more than one new fave for our #futurepicks - more to follow but in the mean time, hats off to Ranga Records.

Today is about gearing up for getting busy (about superb music) while in support of the antifash protestors in London today, wishing them safety. As for being the young offspring of a fashfather, our own Dizzy Spell has a must read article of experience: ‘My Dad Was A Sweet And Tender Hooligan’.

Tomorrow a Sunday social (with music!) in the afternoon then going to Camden after for, well, more live music! There’s a theme? Uniqulture. Being welcomed at all of these events (well, not the fash march!) and simultaneously engaged and entertained.

5 There are so many tale(nt)s weaving.

An extended community of poetic souls are shaping very many things in a myriad of ways means that it is more than worth documenting or just being in that moment.

Some of them have made it to mainstream/main stage attention already. It’s not a race and the wild cards keep coming as much as the news keeps going down rabbit holes and up arseholes.

It warm the heart when good things happen for good people as it also inspires even more good people.

Do you know the energy and story of Laurie Wright? Has been in TheZineUK story since we caught him as a talented kid at End Of The Trail’s Alt Escape event. Fast forward, via a rock n roll life condensed into a decade, to The Musos Awards 2025 Inspiration winner. Not only did Laurie and his band rock the venue he once busked outside but, as the pic says, returns to Camden’s Electric Ballroom on 16th December as the headliner!

The new rock music movements are full of artistic new futures.

Congratulations to creative feminist force of nature, Nova Twins, on their newly released and highly acclaimed third album, Parasites & Butterflies. They’re a golden thread in the documenting (before they formed) and there’s extra love the Cool Thing team being involved, more faves from these chapters. Situationist kismet - it was meant to be. Nova Twins were also recently on Channel 4 TV’s Sunday Brunch. The week before it was The K’s a band who, via another interdependent star turn, promoter and supporter, This Feeling, have developed organically into album chart toppers.

Now is a time that we should whole heartedly celebrate the potential of the small and eccentric islands off the European continent mainland. Why not? Foreign powers are trying to manipulate civil war. Might as well show who The Many really are…

6 The arts bring balance to the force.

August 2025, the crowd chant “free Mo Chara” because genocide IS the modern international story. Part 3 of this Brits colonial mindset farce is later this month… 26th September will be the third time that our documentary returns to Westminster County Court. Some ace Ruby Blue reportage is at https://www.instagram.com/thezine.uk/

7 Britain never never never shall be… oh. Wait a minute.

If our pre-occupied UK’s olde world ended in December 2012 (like The Mayans predicted) then Danny Boyle’s Olympic ceremony was the greatest ‘virtual disaster movie’ opening scene, ever.

Our opening scene…

In 2014, TheZineUK launched with stagestyle and a live word x music social on London’s Tin Pan Alley (Denmark Street, Soho).

Music Tourism for the people. This locality is now home to the Outernet, a rock n roll hotel, Rough Trade Soho, The Lower Third and Yungblud has launched his own London music venue and clothing store, BRAT (Beautifully Romanticised Accidentally Traumatized) at No.20 on August 7th.

From beloved cast, cats and crew, zeenagers The Velvet Hands and Sasha Assad (the latter found via This Feeling) played the launch where Yungblud told the packed Tin Pan Alley of fans “I f*cking love you. Welcome to Denmark Street. Keep Denmark Street alive. Keep British f*cking music alive. Keep British music powerful.”

The steady rise of The Velvet Hands to being Cornwall’s No.1 Alt Rock band is hard worked for. They also played our first Music People Party at the end of 2017, the origin year. Because our story is a tapestry weaving, you’ll probably still bump into one of them at Camden’s Hawley Arms…

8 That’s The Spirit!

More people are beginning to wake. What a soundtrack to do it to. GWAN 2025! Fascism remains capitalism in decay. As I proof-read this, “Unite The Kingdom” is marching against refuge. Mainstream media have given them somebody they’d never heard of as a martyr. They don’t stand up for better wages, lower prices, the homeless and hungry, children, our NHS or even having clean water. Every immigrant leaving would not solve that. Imagine every European being repatriated outta the Middle East, Africa, The Americas, Asia and Australia? You can’t have it both ways…

9 Outsanity

Whimsical situationism has anchored us through the high seas of brexshit, beginnings, lockdown and endings - to international genocide, hatred and authoritarianism. There’s more but…

We retain escapisms and after the decayed decade we started 2025 with,,,

…‘A New Golden Thread’

by our multi talented Editor, Dizzy Spell.

I could not have articulated TheZineUK’s existence better. It underpins this year, since.

It can feel spiritual through fused global imaginations and conversations of self expressive skills, celestial views, emojis, memes, translation apps (noting the awesome love for Sign Language stars at live shows) and humanity’s instinctive extra sensory perception: evolved empathy.

“…we continue to show them how resistance movements recognise each other across borders, and when they try and silence one voice for liberation, we all come together, we all stand together.

As a working class, Romani woman, that matters….”

(Dizzy Spell, August 2025)

10 TheZineUK Report, Planet Water 2025

We have, additionally, hands on researched (and with-proof) identified an interdependent art sector, forged by the stories of playing class DIY professionals. No diversity token was necessary.

The pushed hierarchy of bigotry wording becomes increasingly meaningless as truth, creativity, conscience and courtesy are the weapons of heroes.

Another threadfave, Gabi Garbutt, the afternoon of Saturday 5th July. A few hours earlier and a few miles away from the Panda Power all dayer, the police had started arresting pensioners against genocide… Punky Queerpop Gabi will also play the femmesocialpress book launch this month. Alongside Patrick Jones and Dizzy Spell, femmesocial were a performance of poetry at the first Zeenagers Expo event last Spring.

11 Planet Water?

The weaving threads are where old myths were made and new ones are currently forming.

It’s a SuperNature thing as our unique, universal atoms connect.

Earthlings from a parallel dimension… gonna let the ace Ace Ambrose sing relevance for these days… ‘This Is England

Ancient, romantic soul’s have always lived in what now seems like a parallel dimension.

We’re still animals. Humans are best living a simple life, because why should our time on the living globe that created us, be hard? We can learn from the other animals.

You gotta roll with it. September began with the launch of the book, ‘Oasis Definitely’ by Creation Records etc raconteur, Tim Abbot. Love, Hate or Not Care about about the international #Oasis25 shows because as an antidote to the ongoing WWIII, the escapism of roaring along to famous songs with a crowd will always have a euphoric effect on your soul. All generations of music fans are at gigs for new AND established bands (The Molotovs play The Scala in October, their biggest headline to date). Ageism is so last century. Our TikTok clip of Matt and Tim.

12 We (All) Live Here

Last weekend LOUD WOMEN (5th and 6th September) and Decolonise Feat (6th and 7th) followed April’s CroCroLand in not only being independent music festivals that went ahead this year (all three are Musos Awards 2025 nominees) but also the interdependent sector proving a firm foundation of uniqulture’s growth. Weaving… weaving…

#StageStyle Hello Kitty + DMs. Liverpool post punk outfit - steel. - played their first Bristol gig at LOUD WOMEN Fest on the Friday then their first London gig at Decolonise Fest on the Saturday (where we got a little clip for the insta).

13 2025 is a roller coaster

Like a slush puppy in a waffle toaster. All bingo cards are off. Look out for each other.

H8 Brtn -v- Gr8 Brtn – do we really love this country? Don’t make it feel, sound and look like a violent, barbarian shit hole then.

With facts and truths, we can suss much for ourselves, then duck n dive if we want to survive.

Mostly made of water, Earthlings rise up. Demand cheap, clean water. It falls out of the sky. Keep returning to this but, like music, it flows through us. Age of Aquarius tings, innit.

Hey, electro pop fans, learn the British Sign Language dance to ‘Acwariwm’ by Ani Glass, while you’re at it! Rockers, be SO Madame So…

Madame So’s new single, the relevantly titled ‘Sick Of It All’ was our bandcamp friday tip this month and now added to our #NewerWaveRocks playlist - soundtracks from Armageddon’s Clown Show remixed time of monsters.

14 Such human rights are essential.

The Alien hearted botbrains are stealing from the poor to get back home to Mars, but some of us would settle for a life where you could afford a bag of chips as per ye olde saying; "cheap as chips".

We'll be in debt for clean air next.

Mainstream media has made the phrase "dumbing down” extinct already

15 Some humans are even against human rights!

We’re age-old planet-offspring born to play and guard our world. Minstrels, Jesters, Bards and Scoundrels are still to be found living near water, trees and bird song.

We don't have to like each other or love each other but islands kissed by thermal winds and seas are gonna develop fused cultures over centuries of international travel.

Our flags, too. WE LIVE HERE. (Saturday 6th September 2025 at Decolonise Fest)

16 We are not ashamed to keep learning, evolving

The white mirror dimension rabbit hole is a slow suicide. Life deserves better days. We're blessed with additional pleasure sensors to the other life forms. Thank you for the music, Nature.

We are also not ashamed to keep singing and dancing!

Signature Brew HQ, Summer 2025, Tom McQ (met him at a Laurie Wright gig in February, he looked so groovy) was an ace live set at On The Meadow Festival 2025. In the background, The Kosmic Girl is having a dance. Turns out we’re connected with Jean Genie, Panda Power and Kosmic Troubadour. We’re just all knitting tighter, aren’t we?

17 Manners are free.

It's actually about all any of us can afford these days. Oi, shoutybullies, we’re bored.

Even a national newspaper says we're better than this.

We are.

Just imperfect.

All of us.

Take a break and have a dance for fuxache.

We can't think exactly the same but most of us can converse. Matriots, patriots, whatever

Pav Rai delighted us with presence and performance as The Genes made new friends at Decolonise Fest (which is the UK's first music festival created by and for people of colour.. We attended the first meeting (a month after Brexit) and have just stayed in love.  Proper punk rock inclusion on the dance floor and stage, alike. A blip of The Genes song and dance joy from the weekend, is at our insta.

18 We’re decoding reality with anti-book, social media shortened, attention spans.

If we start with clean water and music, look after each other to look after ourselves then we’ve SEEN that we already police ourselves on the biggest peace/anti-racism marches. Romantic souls who are pulsing humanity’s shared beat, still inspire folk tales of every day heroes, to this day.

Brave hearts of love are united under the same art show of sky across the globe.

Decode propaganda that is pushed as “news” like the 20th century’s Alan Turing - he was an organic intelligence genius!

What if the parallel dimension of Planet Water was more of a reality than The Worse Place that is Planet Earth 2025? A world where people can be told what to think, unquestioning, by billionaires and militaries. Just look at britain’s prime sinister…

19 Ha ha “Sir Oswald Muesli”!

Around the time that the cowardly, toolish temu-tory made his “nation of strangers” speech, we were at (yet another!) love in. This time, Music Industry Soccer Six Fest which has been in our story since the first chapter. Footy and music are playing class pursuits with a lotta love in the mix. Band sports day soundtracked by a gigs all dayer.

There’s a growing community of unity since The Musos Awards flavoured the rock n roll world with THAT party in Spring. Then in Summer…

Snapshots:: MOSES, The Outers, Chaos Twins and Emergency Break repping at Mile End Stadium, Summe 2025.

20 Just a thought.

Find your sixth sense. If you're reading this then it’s quite possible that your spirit already lives in the realm of parallel dimsnsion critical thinking and…

21 You’re living a real time rock opera with an unreal backdrop.

Back to Tyla Challenger, mentioned in the first pic on this page. His band, Hot Property not only just rocked Leeds Festival, but Jonny of The Garage Flowers (played one of our music socials, found them via a Panda Power event saying that they looked like rock stars). Recently saw Joe (now of JC & The Great Plague) at the Brighton Rock n Roll Circus, this Summer too. Kick Out The Jams showcase was the showiest of The Great Escape Festival weekend. True that.

22 Gigs and giggles are a medicine.

Giggles and yawns shared are so global Earthling. “they come over here”, you go over there… We've been doing international travel for centuries and fallen in love with people and places, flavours and sounds. So…

23 It's a no to becoming Hate Island.

Fuck off with that. No to violence and abuse is the bare minimum.

We're imperfect, hardly Love Island, but we can at least be (to sing Supergrass) ‘Allllllllllriiiiight’ rather than alt-right. Because we’ve a world to win.

For instance, another up coming fave is Tom A. Smith. When he was a child, Tom Mouse Smith caught our attention and keeps doing so. Enjoyed catching him play at The Musos Awards in Spring, then again recently at the Gibson Guitar Garage for This Feeling (they were both winners on the night)

24 The Youth Explosion is a reality that keeps the newer wave of a rock a nower wave of culture.

Fabulous glossy magazine, ASBO, now flies off international record shop shelves so fast that they’ve been asked for more copies next time. Summer/Autumn’s Molotovs cover by photographer, Olly Bromidge (also as the Zeenagers Expo launch) is what helped inspire last month’s connection map through Fourth Portal.

Also met Clary - now of The Havocks who was (alongside SOAKED) supporting The Molotovs in New Cross (2022) and Adora of The Havocks at ASBO Mag’s riotous Bilk Rough Trade launch last year. At The Musos Awards, Kat Five and Chaos Twins and The Havocks met at This Feeling and ASBO Magazines table. Gurriers will support Kneecap again at Wembley. Native James tore both CroCroLand AND Decolonise Fest new constellations. It’s all meant to be. Right?

25 (for ‘25) Our arts are tip top pop of the tops.

Now imagine different conversations at paint-crossed crossroads, for all our sakes and move forward together while we can afford to eat instead of following the divide to conquer agenda being pushed by mainstream media that views artists and paint throwers (number of people murdered, nil) as terrorists but gangs of violent, bigoted, frightening thugs who actually terrorise, as “patriots” and toady to the fash with eulogies about foreign supremacists. It doesn’t make sense because that’s the way that the hisstablishment empire are torturing critical thinkers. Stay safe in your minds.

Next stop, they’ll ban artists of all kinds, full stop.

Shutting down musicians, venues, libraries, sports fields, swimming baths, youth clubs and debate (if the free speech allows too much freedom) is the empire’s crapitalist empire crumbling. Arts, Music and Sports are what humans, playful animals, NEED. Support Brum rockers, GANS with their campaign to LIFT THE BUSKING BAN, FFS. We still want our minstrels to perform publicly after all these centuries…

RESIST

True News can be told, researched or considered in conversation, visual art, in music, theatre, in poetry like The Sound Of Bo Belle https://thesoundofbobelle.blogspot.com/ and satire like Normal Island News https://normalisland.co.uk/ among much more that is not mainstream…

Banksy’s 2025 masterpiece became a performance collab! It was scrubbed clean faster than any painted roundabout. Of course. Jedi like, it became even more powerful when erased.

We’re a virtual movie made of stardust, sharing many soundtracks. Join #TheZineUK documenting, installation and socialising.

What a time to wish to just be allowed to be alive. Like the other animals.
For now though, let’s dance. One Love.

Independent Music Festivals that truly rock are our on land and on line 21st century Top Of The Pops TV show as a living installation of community. Here’s BONA RAYS bringing a fierce force to the excellent Decolonise Fest weekend!
