Today I went to a pub I go to regularly, in a fairly posh area of South London, and there was a young woman at the table next to us in the beer garden.

We were sitting for about 10 minutes before she started sobbing uncontrollably, not one person asked her if she was alright - the closest to an acknowledgement was people pointing out that she was upset and then returning to their conversations.

When I went to check on her, she told me that she had just received news that she was being deported by Home Office.

This is happening in a very real capacity all around us, and for any uninformed individuals, the Home Office have been putting large scale deportation investigations into action for the last year. Invading businesses and homes on the basis that there COULD be “illegal” immigrants within. Ripping families apart. Deporting individuals regardless of their contributions to their communities and their chosen home.

There is hardly a place on the surface of the planet that the English have not been what they clearly fear the most; “illegal invaders”. Whilst you can’t point a finger at modern day brits for the colonisation their country has committed, we must absolutely hold them accountable for allowing similar fascist ideology take hold in modern society.

English people love to sit around and talk about how Americans are monsters for letting ICE kidnap people off the streets, how Americans are monsters for even allowing Trump to be elected, without realising that their indifference to it beginning to happen within their own communities will lead to the exact same situation in England.

Being “morally superior” to America will only take you so far without direct action regarding the prevention of racist & xenophobic laws being put in place in England. Without a solution, you will end up in the exact same situation - with no excuse.
