Thursday 1st to Saturday 31st October 2026 is where TheZineUK doc embraces the past, leaving it documented for posterity, while flavouring the now and next.

We identified an interdependent Sector of music industrious, DIY/grassroots - and outwards (Artists, Audiences and Allies) - a vibrant addition to UK/IE entertainment industry.

We’re in an age where being an artist or simply a decent human is increasingly hard for the non privileged and the non-corrupt. So the collaborative nature of interdependence is a key starting point for escapism.

Nature speaks through self expression, you can HEAR some of the best creativity during this period as the pincer movement of the fashpredator jigsaw’s last pieces try to fall into place.

Resistance is Fertile.

ArtfulFest reality stepped up during lockdown. This sixth incarnation includes physical or virtual exchanges of ideas. The image is of the original skull and crossbones at St Nick’s Church on Deptford Green, South East London. A mutiny against cruel captains is a recurring human theme.

Alliances and community ripple outwards.

For instance, musician, Andy Palmer, performs “Higher Than The Sun”, one of the tunes on the Spotify ArtfulFest Playlist. Having created a fresh New Cross scene as a grassroots venue manager (Nova Twins returned for their intimate show recentish) we’ll always appreciate this location being where our documenting of alternative arts uniqulture began.

We live in parallel dimensions and magical realms of lived reality on Earth. Discovering more about loved friends through the uniqulture of Planet Water.

Green, Pleasant and Fun

TheZineUK highllighted that the industrious sector are woven into the Musos Awards (musicians voting for their peers, lively parties of artists at all levels, united for a celebratory evening). We dress up for “the other green party” where a charm is cast for new futures. 100 YouTube Seconds Of Spring 2026 at Camden’s Electric Ballroom. We return in December for the #Punk50Years event hosted by John Robb, Musos Awards: PUNK is also the first year of it’s next 50 Years!

RESISTANCE IS FERTILE - with DIY chic!

This Spring TheZineUK were part of the incredible Cultures In Resistance week. A global arts powered retreat in Yorkshire that ArtfulFest will continue to amplify. It was unreal but so much more real as what passes for reality, these days.

Courtesy of the Hans Hess Foundation in collaboration with Wortley Hall and Manifesto Press, CiR united those involved in art, cultural activism and social justice through an entertaining week of expression, creativity, discussion, activity and campaign organising. “This gathering aims to explore the vital role of the arts in social and political movements, examine contemporary working-class culture, and consider the impact of new technologies on creative practice.”

Comradeship and solidarity personifed. (This is socially awkward me, saying this. I didn’t know if I’d be knowledgable because I skived school but I only felt elated and included!)

This October will also be a year of Ruby Blue’s illuminating Stage Style Unstitched articles “we've always grasped the visceral, revolutionary link between music and the threads that adorn its prophets”.

Singing, Dancing and Playing are not yet banned.

Digitally enslaved and surveilled, our bondage is shackled by weapons of mass distraction. Ooh, look at the gossip and the celebrities. Except some of us are arts hearts, freed by the escapism of poetic souls and enquiring minds.
