'Casual Sex', BLAB
‘Casual Sex’ has come.
The new single from BLAB, ‘Casual Sex’ is essential escapism out now on Cool Thing Records.
Close your eyes, lie back and don’t think of “Engerland” right now. Here to lift you is BLAB, a youth poet rock force not afraid of sounding too big and speaking too much truth.
“Casual sex makes me depressed…”
This major song is empathy articulated then topped off with strutting beats and wailing riffs into just over three minutes of hot song heaven. The first two weeks of 2021 deserve to be rounded off with this much fun.
‘Casual Sex’ has already been picked up by key BBC, Amazing Radio and independent shows and music sites. BBC Radio Essex have additionally spotted BLAB as a Sound Of 2021.
It’s no secret that BLAB has keen fans amidst the interdependent community. With what TheZineUK rated a “massive freaker” of a debut single, ‘R.I.P.’, (Summer 2020) the Essex rock(ing) star is back with another huge stage worthy guitar blessed blast. There’s an unpolished sheen on this music.
Argh, I was SO looking forward to catching BLAB live. A feminist-fatale with her heart in the right place and her tunes on the thrilling wavelength is right up my street. I don’t see why this absolutely ON IT phenomenom can’t go all the way.
Luckily, her gig with the ever-sussed Kick Out The Jams is happening in Autumn (12th August, Amersham Arms supporting Cruel Hearts Club). During the pandemic, live shows are on their own tour dates (!) around the calendar as we strive to stay safe/sane - but do we give up hope of the delayed gratification? Nah mate, with artists like BLAB, #TheZineUK doc has got so much to look forward to!
