Curated by founder Leo Gerchen (energetic frontman of Emergency Break) in collaboration with GoToBeat (one of London's top promoters), ON THE MEADOW is now in it’s second year.
This vibrant all day music festival selects from the best of the UK’s grassroots circuit for an unforgettable day. Fantastic live music - on The Brewery Stage and The Acoustic Stage - with great food, drink, art and a strong creative community - plus DJs to pulse this party. 2025’s outdoors theme? Urban Circus.
“We feel that 2025 will be a pivotal year for new music. From the beginning we set out to create a festival that honours the quality of the artists performing - and how valuable the grassroots scene is to the UK music industry in general.”
“I hope that by keeping ticket cost low and making the day a 16+ event that it will inspire and energise young musicians to become the bigger stars of the future"
(Festival creator, Leo)

With many of this year’s independent (and otherwise) festivals sadly postponed or cancelled, for various reasons, Leo and the On The Meadow team set out to make a day "that's not only affordable, but honours all the artists playing and how valuable their music is."
This is reflected in where ON THE MEADOW is being held
Signature Brewery’s beer is famous for supporting artists (The Libertines, Alt-J, Sports Team, and many must-see events at it’s various sites. Haggerston alone is home to This Feeling, John Kennedy, Decolonise Fest and Kick Out The Jams. (On-side in deed, also. TheZineUK documentary remembers Signature Brew employing musicians during lockdown. Fair play). An eco aware, sustainable brewery, with ethics, they say, “We are committed to making a positive impact on the world and the people around us”.
Hey! TheZineUK know that logo! Kat Five and the Chaos Twins sat behind this t-shirt earlier this month at the Musos Awards! Love it when the tapestry threads weave…
The Signature Brew logo is a staple at many of the most happening shows and festivals. With hosts Future Hits Radio, who are a staple name in getting the music of many artists heard live on air plus DJs Indie Cult Club and Mark ‘Disco’ Stuart on the decks. #TheZineUK luvz a bit of festive frolics and stage style, what will YOU wear?
All the fun of the fair at an urban circus of non stop musical thrills
A mere sample of the star shaped live music
LARKINS
On The Meadow is pleased to be a part of the band’s huge comeback shows, specifically their return to London for this headline. It’s been almost a year.
One of the most exciting alt-pop bands to emerge from Manchester in decades, they continue to wow fans with their stadium-ready showmanship and infectious, anthemic choruses. “already writing songs that would make Chris Martin weep with envy" said Manchester Evening News.
Since the release of their debut album “JCOY” in 2021, Larkins have amassed over 20 million streams and sold over 15,000 tickets (not including festival performances at Y Not, Hit the North, Neighbourhood, Dot to Dot and Live at Leeds).
Their wall-to-wall shows, with fans singing every word, showcase the stratospheric rise of a band on the cusp. LARKINS are in possession a hit-making flair, ready-made for indie dance floor and global airwaves, alike. With national radio on side and they energy of their supporters, they’re not slowing down! "Big bold anthems of the future..." predicted Jo Good of Radio X. It’s 2025, the future is here. Are We Having Any Fun Yet? We WILL on 19th July.
THE KAIROS
In 2022 this young Liverpool band wowed TheZineUK at the debut Test Transmission event by This Feeling and they have been glued to our ears ever since. In 2023, their EP ‘Better Late than Never’, received Radio X, BBC Radio 1 etc. airplay. One by one, their shows started selling out. Increasingly guitar band fans are discovering The Kairos. 2024? Well half a minute of The Kairos and Ko. at Truck Festival (on TheZineUK TikTok) speaks for itself!
2025’s single and newly uploaded video ‘Keep It On The Low’ steps up with a grand, brassy stomper of the swaggering live favourite that is taking on legs of it’s own since being released. The Kairos have an arsenal of such super sized scorchers.
The buzz around this band has led to slots at Isle of Wight Festival, football stadiums with James, arenas with Red Rum Club, their own headline tour and a monster homecoming headline show at the Liverpool O2 Academy. Fresh from touring with the Reytons to playing another “I Was There” moment. “Kairos” is an ancient Greek word meaning the right, critical, or opportune moment.’ On The Meadows is the exact time not to miss this essential gang.
EMERGENCY BREAK
With their wild live performances and distinctive skewed rock sound, Emergency Break are taking the live music scene by storm. They sold out Camden Assembly within six months of forming. It’s becoming a habit. Sell out shows at O2 Academy Islington, Old Blue Last, Dublin Castle and The Grace have propelled the band to new audiences.
Establishing their identity through internally recorded singles and externally chaotic performance, their raucous reputation proceeds them. Ending 2024 with the release of ‘Hometown’ was taking things a step up. It’s the first studio recorded and mastered single by Emergency Break and is accompanied by the “Future Picks”-looking video that made the band one of our eclectic tips for 2025. The sounds their insteruments make is a seismic rock rumble.
The whole band own every stage with charisma, antics, inclusive interaction and of the essence, actual songs that incite cheers from the crowd. It makes for an electrifying experience.
Loaded with With the confidence and creativity loaded with the potential to widen their audience (who are part of the sho). Emergency Break consistently develop both themselves and their growing community – and show no signs of stopping. Emergency Break are developing as fast as technology. WTF.
Could be your new favourite band. You’ll likely to witness more than one today….
A day full of all-happening names.
The above is just a taster. A few more: Watch and listen out hard for emopunx, ARCHANGELS, who starred opening for Emergency Break’s sold out headline at The Grace to kick off this year. There’s DIY dynamo, FRASER MORGAN with the living-a-dream story of HARRI LARKIN calling in. Just how sartorial elegance loaded is TOM McQ, by the way?! SAINT CLAIR have cool-as-fuq shows with Courting and Die Twice. ARTACA have just released the expressive and expansive tune, ‘Journey’ and you’ll NEED to witness the Sexy, Nasty, Rock n Roll courtesy of STEREO CUPID, who real-deal it in the video for their latest single, ‘Mind’. They’re set to blow yours…
The bottom line is an invitation to be part of an all day launch-pad in a surreal setting with space ship tones. Tickets are already flying, so don’t wait! https://gotobeat.com/gig/on-the-meadow-2025
