“Watch Out! Skinner Brothers About!”

It’s one of the last gigs of their recent trail blazing tour for this Motley Crue of Charismatic Chaos Makers…

The packed Ku Club crowd are bouncing, sweating, already chanting The Skinners’ songs… people on shoulders, beer and beachballs everywhere - before they’ve even hit the stage!

They open up with their epic song ‘Iconic’ and the crowd goes absolutely mental, continuing this for the whole set. Singing every word of every song ’till the band finally leave stage (and continue well afterwards)

It’s not just high energy bangers all the way - The Skinners show hidden depthsl they can out-ballad any ‘Champagne Supernova’ style singalongs - and mid-set was their new song “Mellow” (a stand-out fave for me).

The whole visual spectacle and musical diversity of The Skinner Bros is too much to explain in a review cos these boys deserve a bloody book - guaranteed they’ll get one…

A mad year, already. Having previously been special guests, live, of Kasabian, The Streets, The Libertines, The Music and The Sherlocks, the energetic and articulate Skinner Brothers also played festival sets at Reading, Leeds, Neighbourhood and Live At Leeds. Autumn release, the ‘Lonedon’ EP is out now. “I wanted the EP to have a mixtape kind of feel. It’s four different songs which I feel captures the essence of the band at this point.” (Zac Skinner who wrote, produced and self recorded it in his home studio). It’s the first new music since their critically acclaimed LP, ‘Soul Boy II’ and we look forward to what happens next with this band:
