December

“If you’re going to see the emergence of a new great band you’ll see them at This Feeling first.” Carl Barat

Since the 2017 launch of alive (This Feeling taking terrific top tips on tour), TheZineUK have witnessed the nation’s most sociable music social propel the profile and pulling power of myriad artists - and the grassroots music venue circuit where stars are made. The 21st Century’s alternative pop heirs are a fresh prospect. Experience four of them live, ALIVE, on one line up!

Coco And The Lost

“Pushing the boundaries on classic brit-pop” (Wonderland Magazine).

The latest single, ‘Crying In The Bathroom’ is a “we’ve all been there”, heartfelt, pop-tastic and harmonic sing along.

“I am beyond excited to be part of the 'ALIVE' tour. To get to play to crowds up and down the country, at iconic grassroots venues, alongside such great bands, it’s going to be unreal and really special. My band and I are going to give it everything and more. Cannot wait!”

Blessed with an emotive voice - first live show played? Isle Of Wight Festival 2021! (p.s. the cover of Roy Orbison’s ‘You Got It’ is sultry and superb!) https://youtu.be/sTRsYGJJy2A

Starting as a monthly club night fifteen years ago, This Feeling has organically become the UK's No.1 promoter of emerging acts.

"The Zone" is an ever extending community of promising talent - rock, pop, punk, indie, electro and vocals - showcasting new artists in over fifty cities and towns. Developing not only the stories of musicians and their crews but also the writers, photographers and film makers who support the scenes. Look again at the tour poster and credited photographers Julia Nala, Magnolia Lux, Alan Wells and Jon Mo.

There are always industry, grassroots or otherwise, watching This Feeling who also host stages at other major music festivals including Y Not, Truck. Tramlines and The Great Escape to name but a few.

With artists like Inhaler, Black Honey, Tom Grennan, Gerry Cinnamon, The Struts and Yonaka in their expansive alumni, This Feeling has replaced the weekly printed music press of the 20th century as our place to discover the now and next.

“This Feeling were the first to take a real punt on us. They helped kick start it all.”
Tom Ogden (Blossoms)

The Chase

Delightfully upbeat (and described as “daringly contagious” by Clunk Mag), The Chase sold out their first home town headline show (Nottingham), in August and are already confirmed for the debut Sound Sounds Festival in April 2022. Their music has featured on ITV sport and at football grounds. Chase this musical gang!

Just how tight-knit are they? “We’ve been playing music since we were kids”, they told Louise Schofield who interviewed them before their Isle Of Wight Festival set. https://youtu.be/JbkXrkPuWH4

Who doesn’t love a slice of classic horn pop? Hear ‘Death Of Me’. The production on this scorcher is by the band themselves!

"We are absolutely thrilled to be on the line up for the 'Alive' Tour, we will be sharing the stage with some class acts. We can't wait to head back to Manchester and London and be playing our first ever show in York. Obviously we are most excited for our hometown show at Rough Trade, if its anything like our Rescue Rooms headliner, then we are in for an absolute stomper of a night! It's gonna be a winter wonder zone!”

The Chase

Shout out the band’s next single, ‘Set The World To Rights’ which is out on the 26th November!

As a documentary, TheZineUK has witnessed a succession of artists taking off like a runway from This Feeling Airport.

Whether its The Velvet Hands going from TF's famed "Big In..." shows to supporting Liam Gallagher, Fontaines D.C. etc, TF DJ Katie Owen presenting on BBC Radio 1 and becoming Kasabian's tour DJ or seeing Bang Bang Romeo go from the first Alive Tour to being on the road with Pink. It’s quite some list in the #FertileEnvironment of new music industry, to be fair.

The Lilacs

“Another red hot new band from Wigan set to soar” Gigslutz

Last month, debut single, “Vicarage Road”, hit its 100,000th Spotify stream.

The Lilacs also played City Square live before Manchester City FC’s game.

They’ve supported The Ks and The Sherlocks this year, too.

Audio: Check out the mod-beat pop sound of their new single, ‘Sally’

“It has been an unbelievable 2021 for us as a band and to be ending it by joining This Feelings “alive tour” seems like the perfect finish to lead us into 2022 on a massive high. Every gig we play we are seeing more and more people turning out to watch us and it is such a special feeling. To get the chance to join up with 3 other top bands and play in cities we have never played before is another quality opportunity for us to do what we love to do. We can’t wait to get out there…. This ones going off!”

The Lilacs

2020 and 2021 have knocked so much out of new music

The stuffing has been knocked out of artists, venues, audieinces… - physically, financially and mentally - So much so, that we'd be lost without the likes of Music Venue Trust and This Feeling. It makes any music event that actually CAN happen even more specials. Now it's time to really feel Alive and get to a gig.

Serotones

“Jangly guitars, stomping beats and killer vocals as heard on Radio X and Soccer AM” Gigslutz
FFO: Stone Roses, Shed Seven, The Charlatans, The Feens
Latest single ‘This Won’t Last Forever’

“With anticipation building up over a few years, we can finally start preparing for a little taster at life on the road. The Alive Tour is something we’ve always wanted to be part of and we finally have the chance to showcase our songs in venues and cities we’ve never played. Cheers to nights on the sofa and good times with new mates.” - Serotones
