#ZeenageDaydreams Playlist: November
There is too much good music sent to my inbox on the daily - and my little fingers cannot keep up with writing articles that have the effort, time and love all these amazing tunes deserve. So - ever economical here at TheZineUK, we present (drumroll please…) the #ZeenageDaydreams playlist.
Kicking off November with early fireworks, this month we have a few disco queens - Natasha Kitty Katt’s insanely catchy vampiric ‘Batt Danse’, which you might have read about a few days ago on this ol’ site - and Mango in Euphoria with ‘Ghost’, I cannot rave enough about her… think a French Lada Gaga gone full dark disco goth queen who is currently putting the Star in Kill Star clothing. We’ve got Bugeye’s ‘Don’t Stop’ which gives Kathleen Hanna at her most melodic and rounding the disco off we’ve got Feral Five’s ‘Truth is the New Gold (Martyn Ware Mix)’, it’s giving The Slits do Night Fever.
We’ve also got Dead Writers’ gothic perfection with Lisa, Generation’s 80’s anachronism ‘Ego’, which is beyond infectious, The Bites give Hollywood swagger in ‘Pretty Boys’, and also from LA LA Land, The Darbies with ‘Oh Well’ which is a head shaking dirty rock n roll explosion…
…..as is ZineUK Fave’s Velvet Hands with ‘Is There Anybody out There?’ (Our Caff wrote about why you must catch them live back on October 12th here).
The otherworldly Outers, with ‘First Sight’, (who are a tour de force live by the way) already sound like they’re indie icons. We‘ve got real-life superheroes Colossus with ‘Smoke & Mirrors’, who are not just genre-defying but manage it all in one song (it’s grunge, no it’s rock no it’s….)
Weather Underground’s ‘We Hate The Fucking BBC’, which is a bit timely, and not at all borrowed from Thee Headcoats, and a gothic pullback from London Ghost with ‘Phoenix’, finishing with soon-to-be stadium star band MOSES and their lament on the rock n roll dream ‘Waiter’.
