Video Premiere : Family Jools are a one-off. Britain’s grooviest band have really got it happening with their new single and video ‘U Got It Going On’.

The video could be of a band from any century, fittingly for the individual, classic guitar band sound of Family Jools.

"I don't really hear a lot of records like that at the minute. Definitely something of the 70's about it. Which sets it apart from a lot of things happening now."

said Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 Music radio, when playing their recent single, ‘Sisters’.

Freshly released now, ‘U Got It Going On’ is already hitting key playlists.

TheZineUK documentary has seen Family Jools develop over the last few years into the musical force who were due to play SXSW earlier this year.

They’ve stayed prolific and performing through lockdown and are heading for a special show at Amersham Arms where those lucky enough to have a ticket get to hear ‘U Got It Going On’ and a set of tunes (that wouldn’t be out of place on BBC TV’s Later With Jools), live. It’s the band’s first live outing since March!

This video feels like it straddles both centuries of rock as much as the band’s rootsy psychedelic sounds do.

Babe Club give us 'Automatic Love'

There’s a retrofuture lifestyle video for the new, sci-fi age alt-pop single, ‘Automatic Love’, by Babe Club.

Concepts within concepts as the song veers from loved up, warm coloured beats to cold shaded sinister riffs - and back- like the soundtrack to an inwardly tortured sweet smile.

The self released single is accompanied by a video ad for their creation ‘The Flip-Flap’ a smart phone alternative to change your existence!

Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina in USA – Jenna and Corey are creating an incredible sound considering there’s just two of them. With comparisons that include St Vincent, Hole and Blondie Babe Club emit a distinct, grunge-pop sound.

‘Automatic Love’ is part of a prolific series of single releases paving their way to an EP later in the year. It’s a euphoric masterclass that encompasses the band’s impressive armoury of sounds. Produced in USA by Dan Gealson (Grouplove), and engineered by TJ. Elias (Liz Cooper, Mastodon,, Manchester Orchestra)  it is a prime example of why Babe Club are on an increasing amount of radars. It’s a detailed and finely crafted release.

With crafted guitars over a rhythm section that means business, Jenna’s inimitable vocals shine as the song swoops and swerves into atmospheric breaks and big-drops to match the drama of the song;

“Automatic Love’ is about watching your partner have an affair. It’s about the darkness you get pulled into when you realize  your partner is more interested in spending time on their phone than spending it with you. This was the first of many songs that we recorded with Dan and TJ at Big Trouble in Atlanta.”

As previously mentioned, the self-directed promo video is as an advertisement for their new product: Engage with the marvelous wonder of “The Flip-Flap” and stimulate your senses… Even when true love becomes automatic love.

Having already made a mark on the scene with the singles ‘Hate Myself,’ ‘Together,’ and ‘Need A Girl,’ Babe Club’s huge songs are written straight from the heart and now they’re ready to unleash their biggest project to date.
